Our Story

Both of us believe that the stars truly aligned so that our paths could narrowly cross back in December of 2021. Jordan was living in D.C. at the time and Dalton was working at Bubba’s 33 in Indianapolis. We had no idea that our lives were about to change forever. Our own meet-cute…

Jordan was in town for a few days to celebrate Christmas with his family. As part of his Christmas traditions, he always went out for dinner with his mamaw, Patti, just the two of them. They were supposed to get dinner at Texas Roadhouse, but due to a long wait time, they switched last-minute and ended up at Bubba’s 33. That night while making his rounds, Dalton noticed Jordan from across the room. He checked Jordan out and then made his way to Mikayla, his Best Woman, who was bartending that night. “Hey, that guy at table 413 is pretty cute,” Dalton told Mikayla. To Dalton’s surprise, Mikayla said, “That’s Jordan! He was one of my roommates in college.”

Mikayla played wingwoman and went to tell Jordan that her manager thought he was cute. Jordan smiled at the compliment but didn’t think much of it at the time since he was just visiting. That night, however, they indeed matched on not just one, but two dating apps. Messaging turned to texting and things kicked off from there.

Their first “date” was via FaceTime in January. In February, Jordan drove back to Indy so they could have their first proper date. They went to Pins Mechanical Company for duckpin bowling and then to Mimi Blue Meatballs (RIP to one of the best restaurants in Indy) for dinner. Once the date was over, they shared their first kiss. Dalton visited D.C. for the first time the following month. During that trip, they made things official, becoming each other’s first boyfriend, on March 6th, 2022.

When they weren’t driving back and forth from Indy and D.C., they would plan weekend getaways together. In April of 2022, they travelled to Gatlinburg, Tennessee with their three dogs, Lito, Hampton, and Friar. It was Jordan’s first time in Gatlinburg and Dalton enjoyed every second of being his tour guide. At the end of the trip, Dalton brought Jordan to the fountain in The Village, Dalton’s favorite place. It was here that he told Jordan he loved him for the first time, and Jordan cried that he loved him back. Anytime they visit The Village today, they still share an “I love you” and a kiss.

Originally, they “planned” to be long-distance for about three years, but the reality of being apart proved more difficult than expected. By the end of 2022, Jordan was able to break his lease early and move in with Dalton in Indy. On New Year’s Eve, after a final road trip from D.C., they arrived home just in time to ring in the new year. They lived in that condo until October of 2023 when they purchased their first home. Located near Garfield Park in Indianapolis, their new home had everything they wanted, complete with a large backyard for their dogs.

In the spring of 2024, they were spending time in Europe when they visited Palma on the island of Mallorca, Spain. Their first day there, Dalton suggested going to a local lookout point to watch the sunset that evening. It was there that he got down on one knee to ask Jordan to marry him. His speech that he had rehearsed in his head all day left him completely, but it didn’t matter. Jordan accepted Dalton’s proposal on April 2nd, 2024. 

Today, Dalton and Jordan are excitedly putting the finishing touches on their wedding plans. They can’t wait to celebrate with you this October!
